Opening Date Update

We thank you all for your patience as we continue to construct the Samuel Slater Experience. We hope to open to the public in early December. In the meantime, please check out some pictures of our progress!

Work continues on Main Street as trees and the seats of the Liberty Theatre are secured to the floor.

The exterior of the building has been painted and banners are now hanging.

Sneak Preview Visits

We have begun to hold some sneak preview visits. We hosted the Bartlett Class of 1961 for their 60th Reunion, the Webster-Dudley Business Alliance for their annual meeting, and the Webster Public Schools for an Educators’ Open House.

As we prepare to open, we are slowly booking events. If you are interested in holding an event or group tour, please contact Reanna Kuzdzal at rkuzdzal@samuelslaterexperience.org.

Become an Experience Guide Today!

On October 7th, we were delighted to welcome members of the community interested in joining our Experience Guide program. We discussed our plans for opening, some expectations of them as guides, and gave them walkthroughs of the space.

Experience Guides will serve as the main point of connection for visitors, assisting them throughout the museum, answering any questions they may have, and sharing personal stories. If you are interested in learning more about becoming an Experience Guide, please contact Reanna Kuzdzal at rkuzdzal@samuelslaterexperience.org.

An Update on our Woolly Friends

More of Slater’s Sheep are getting ready to graze the streets of Webster and beyond. Look at some of the latest ones!

Swissturn’s sheep painted by Rebecca Hope

Slater’s Sheep is a community art project where local business sponsor local artists to paint a ceramic sheep in a design of their own creation. Businesses will then be able to display the completed sheep. We still have five more sheep available to sponsor.
