Night at the Museum: Music with Mark and Raianne
Mark & Raianne, beloved Massachusetts singer-songwriters, will perform a concert along the museum’s recreation of Webster’s Main Street circa 1915. They’ll be accompanied by their studio band of Doug Williamson (piano, guitar), Peter Hart (pedal steel, Dobro) and Zack Ciras (upright bass). Popular Webster establishment Andy’s Neighborhood Canteen will provide a cash bar in the lobby of the Maanexit Hotel, one of the reconstructed buildings along “Main Street.”
SAVE THE DATE – Night at the Museum: Silent Movies with Richard Hughes
On Friday, November 4, silent movie pianist and historian Richard Hughes will present a live silent movie program at Samuel Slater Experience’s Main Street’s Liberty Theater, diving into the adventure, drama, romance, and comedy that characterized the silent movies of the early 1900s. This interactive evening will include screening of silent movie classics from Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton accompanied by live music. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and additional details will be announced soon.

Bartlett High Reunion
On Saturday, September 10, the Bartlett High School Class of 1985 held their reunion here. They were treated to a tour from SSE Art Consultant and classmate, Dave Laabs, and enjoyed food from Mack’s Catering Service. It was great night for everyone!

Smithsonian Museum Day

Discovering the Nipmuc Lithic Trail
On September 24, Experience Guide and Thompson Historical Society president Joe Iamartino presented “Discover the Nipmuc Lithic Trail” as a part of The Last Green Valley’s Walktober program. Mr. Iamartino presented evidence, photographic and from written history, of the purpose of these historic structures. The room was packed for both presentations. Huge thank yous to Joe Iamartino for helping organize this event and sharing his expertise, and to Paul Provost for his technical support.

School Trip
On September 27, our school trips for the 22-23 school year kicked off! We welcomed 22 fifth and sixth graders from GBCA. We look forward to having more students visit throughout the year!

Take your guests back in time to 1915’s Webster for a night of fun and frivolity by renting our Main Street space and hosting your event here. This section of the museum is ideal for large gatherings, such as receptions, sit-down meals, or parties. It can accommodate up to 80-90 people. Additionally, our gift shop will be open specifically for holiday shopping December 19-21, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. We also will be participating in Museum Store Sunday, which is the Sunday after Thanksgiving (November 27, 2022.)
